First Zone Conference in Bogo!
Zone Conference was so great! We of course had to take the boat to get there, and the sunset was amazing! One thing that really stuck out to me at Zone conference was about Family Home Evening. "Heaven is a continuation of the ideal family". Family home evening may not be something on your priority list to do during the week but it should be. We need to strengthen every family unit. Our prophets and apostles have been saying this for a long time. I encourage you all to have family home evening. To talk with each other about the gospel, messages from Prophets and apostles, scriptures, and your trials. I know it will strengthen your unity and center your lives on our Savior. Sigi just do it!!! Start now!!! Just try!
After Zone conference the 6 of us on Bantayan planned on taking the 5:30pm boat back to Bantayan butttt we found out it was canceled when we arrived at the port. hahah so we traveled all the way back to the STL's apartment to stay the night again! We got up at 5am and took the 6:30 am boat back to our Island! Yay!!! So that was unexpected to stay 2 nights in Bogo. hahah
It's been a successful week of finding and teaching and serving. Our investigator, Yenna age 15, came to church!! Oh I think I forgot to say in my last email that me and my companion are the Seminary teachers here! Every Saturday form 3-5! All are welcome! :) We have been teaching Joseph Smiths History, so that's been fun! We and the Elders also teach the Youth class and Doctrine Principles class! Working in a branch is a lot of work but I'm of course so happy to do it! I'm becoming more and more Filipino everyday and I love it!
Life as a missionary in the Philippines! - By Sister Young
I forgot my rubber shoes outside of our house while we were in Bogo for the 2 nights, when we got home they had shrunk 2 sizes from cooking in the sun. LOL It's all good!! :) Every morning, about 7 am a guy on his tricycle drives by our apartment yelling "Saging, Saging Saging" ( Saging: banana). And so we go out and buy fresh bananas! Same thing for bread!
It's safe to say that my favorite thing about my mission is when an investigator prays at the end of our lesson for the first time. They are so sincere, and the spirit is so strong. It's a completely different way of praying for them. I love it so much! Especially when they cry. Then it's so clear they feel the spirit.
From Bantayan Island to where ever you are.
Love Sister Young!
