Ayooo!
The Elders had 3 baptisms for the Branch!!! Yay! One of them, Antonet is friends with one of our investigators, Yhena! They had to walk pretty far out into the ocean to baptize because it was low tide. Saturday was a great day! I love helping and seeing this branch grow! I can't believe I'm about 1/3 done with my mission!!! Uhhh what? It's going by fast. Sister Honrado and I are doing well! We walk through farms and mud and of course in the hot sun, and I love it.
I love meeting new people everyday. I see their potential and just hope so much that they will understand the truth in what we share with them. It's my favorite thing when they have that "ahhh" moment and see how important this Gospel is! I love how happy they are. Even when "mahal ang bugas" (rice is expensive) hahaha they always smile and are so kind. I love the Philippines! I am consistently smiling and waving at everyone, especially the little girls! When they say "wow gwapa ka!" (you're beautiful!), I always say "ikaw gihapon" (you are too!). Then they giggle and are so surprised that I speak Cebuano! My language is coming along. It's so fun to learn all the different words they use on Bantayan! And of course always trying for better and giving my thanks to my Heavenly Father.
Life as a missionary on Bantayan Island!! by Sister Young :)
We've eaten at the same pizza place for 5 P-days in a row! It's the only restaurant near by! All the others are for tourists and 30 minutes away! I love it here! Everyone rides peddle bikes! There's not one stop light or stop sign here, you just go! The thunder (dug-dug) here is so loud!! The power was out the entire night on Thursday because of the rain and lightning. Our room is too hot to sleep in if there's no fan on, so we slept by our desks on the floor! hahah it all works out!
Sorry this email is so short but gotta go! See ya!!
